Getty Load of This: Supermarkets
Welcome back to Getty Load of This, a blog series where we trawl Getty Images and pay homage to old-school PR stunts. This time, we’re heading down the supermarket aisles to check out some memorable celeb appearances from the last couple of decades. There’s just one rule: All stunts have to be in-store (or in the car park). Turns out loads of supermarkets hire fancy venues for big events, and we don’t want any of that.
I wanted to relive the time I stood for two hours in Tesco Walkden (which makes another appearance later in the blog) in the late 90s to catch a glimpse of Ryan Giggs as he signed some book. I didn’t even like him that much, but when a celeb graces your little town with their presence, you show up.
