It’s (nearly) Chriiistmaaaaas!!! A sneak peek at the 2021 festive season 🎄

While the rest of the country awaits an August heatwave, our attention is focused on the new festive products launching this Christmas. What can we say - we’re geeks.

Let’s cut to the chase. Here are just some of the treats in store for Christmas 2021...

Welcome back, Cadbury Puds! ❤️

We love a good comeback story! This year will see the return of the Cadbury Pud - a product that hasn’t graced the supermarket shelves since 2003. If you need a refresher, Cadbury Puds contain a truffle centre, hazelnut and rice crisp pieces covered in Cadbury Dairy Milk.

Additionally, Cadbury owner Mondelez announced it has teamed up with Cath Kidston to produce a limited-edition Roses tin. However, in what will be music to the ears of WXY founder Marc, the Fry’s selection box is getting a makeover and will include the delicious Orange Cream bar.

ASDA’s Roddy the Reindeer Cake 🦌

This week, ASDA introduced 240 festive products, including more than 200 Vegan and Free From lines on sale, calling it “the most inclusive Christmas yet”. The line includes a returning Bruce the Brussel Sprout Cake and the introduction of the Large Roddy the Reindeer Cake. Not buzzed about the Candy Cane Sausage Roll, though...

Tesco’s Portobello Mushroom Wellington 🌱

Remember when the only veggie option on the Christmas menu was a nut roast? In the same vein as ASDA, Tesco has put some extra effort into their vegan range this year. Part of the Plant Chef range, the Portobello Mushroom Wellington features a whole (you guessed it) portobello mushroom with a rich soya and mushroom duxelles in plant-based pastry and topped with a beetroot and cranberry stuffing.

Waitrose's decorations 🥑

Yeah, the food’s great, but we’re focusing on the decorations on offer at everyone’s favourite middle-class retailer. Charity baubles, cute dinosaur decorations and the ultra festive light-up house orchid terrarium (?) - Waitrose never lets us down!

What we want to see the back of 👋

Covid-related Christmas decorations top the list. We get it; Santa’s in a mask. Funny. We don’t want it hanging from the tree.
